Happy Airbrush Artist Day!

Today, artists and companies in the airbrush industry worldwide are celebrating the „Airbrush Artist Day“, the international celebration day for airbrush art and technique. Featuring the motto „Be part of this passion called airbrushing!“ there will be events, exhibitions, artist meetings, special promotions all about the airbrush and all around the world. After the idea was born in South America, US artist Gerald Mendez and his british colleague Andrew Penaluna discovered the right date: In historic documents they found out, that the name „Air Brush“ was noted for the first time on October 6, 1883, in Rockford, Illinois, USA.

Harder & Steenbeck investing in new technology

Harder & Steenbeck has recently invested heavily in their manufacturing facilities in Norderstedt, Germany. Three major new high-tech CNC machines this year have not only greatly increased their manufacturing capacity, but also opened up new avenues for product design, and development.

A new CNC milling and turning machine complements the already state-of-the-art machines upon which Harder & Steenbeck airbrushes are made, whilst a new polishing machine enables an even finer finish to be applied to the parts after they have been machined.

But the unit which offers the greatest interest to Harder & Steenbeck users is the new CNC needle machine. The capabilities of this machine has meant that H&S could bring new ideas to the shaping and finish of the needles. And so with this new freedom, they began to investigate how to be better! Looking back at Creativa 2019

From March 13-17, the airbrush association took part in the art and crafts show Creative in Dortmund, Germany. It informed the visitors all about airbrushing at its booth. Createx and Iwata help with choosing the right airbrush and paint

“Five ways to spray” – this is the name of the new marketing concept from the Japanese airbrush manufacturer Iwata. The company is taking the difficult, but particularly helpful step for beginners, to classify it ́s own airbrush assortment in a user friendly way. The goal here is to give those inte- rested in airbrushes a good look at the characteristics and advantages of every individual unit of the over 30 airbrush models, thus simplifying the selection for his and her indivi- dual needs. You may be familiar with similar systems from the world of sports, where i.e. a tennis racket would differ from a scale according to its quickness or precision.

As a consequence, Iwata has not only placed its new concept into info brochures, but also right on the new packaging for its devices. To make things easier, every device category is linked to a certain color. Continue reading
